The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the research group led by Assistant Professor Manar Almazrouei. The position focuses on battery materials, including synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing, with a broader context of Industry 4.0 research. The successful candidate will work on projects related to lithium and sodium-ion battery materials, contributing to the university's flagship Industry 4.0 District initiative. This initiative integrates smart digitalization, artificial intelligence, robotics, additive manufacturing, and materials science to advance research and education aligned with Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies.

Key responsibilities include conducting advanced research in battery materials and Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, AI, automation, digital manufacturing, and cyber-physical systems. The postdoc will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, support national and regional Industry 4.0 initiatives, and participate in pilot projects and proof-of-concept demonstrations. Additional duties involve developing research proposals, securing external funding, engaging in technology transfer, publishing high-impact research, and organizing workshops and conferences.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in chemical, mechanical, or materials engineering, chemistry, physics, computer science, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related discipline. Hands-on experience in battery materials synthesis, characterization, and electrochemical testing, as well as a strong publication record in Q1 journals, are required. Preferred qualifications include interdisciplinary research experience, familiarity with digital transformation frameworks, and collaboration with industry partners. Strong research, analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential.
