OverviewAdel Research Group (ARG) at Princeton University invites applicants for full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate(s) position(s) to join our team. These full-time positions offer a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research focused on Construction Robotics, working under the guidance of Dr. Arash Adel, Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture and Associated Faculty of the Department of Computer Science. The desired start date is Spring 2025. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.About UsARG is an interdisciplinary laboratory for advanced research at the intersection of design, computation, and robotics. ARG's research interests include topics such as robot learning, human-robot interaction, Generative AI, computer vision, closed-loop control, extended reality (XR), and computational design.Job DescriptionWe seek to hire outstanding Postdoctoral Research Associates with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research on Construction Robotics (and Timber Assembly). Your responsibilities will include conducting research, disseminating research results, collaborating on robotically fabricated structures, and assisting with managing the lab and projects. We also expect that you will collaborate with the ARG team on developing grant proposals.QualificationsRequired qualifications:Doctoral degree in a related field, such as Architecture, Civil Engineering, Robotics, etc.Excellent track record of research and publications related to the job descriptionStrong scientific writing and communication skillsExperience with Robot Operating System (ROS)Excellent programming skills (Python is required, C# and C++ is desired)Fluency in EnglishDesired qualifications:Experience with sensing technologies, computer vision, and perceptionFoundational knowledge of machine learningExperience developing custom tools and end effectors for robotic assemblyGood knowledge of the CAD software Rhinoceros 3D, its plugin Grasshopper 3D, and its API RhinoCommonReal-world architecture and/or construction experienceWhat We OfferWe offer a competitive package (salary, health insurance, and benefits).
