About this position

The Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) at Boston Children's Hospital, in collaboration with Harvard Medical School, is seeking a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the NIRS group led by Dr. Pei-Yi (Ivy) Lin. The research focuses on advanced neuroimaging, specifically using near-infrared spectroscopy (FDNIRS-DCS) to investigate cerebral hemodynamics in NICU infants and pediatric populations. The successful candidate will have experience in signal processing of time-series neuroimaging data and/or human physiology, and will contribute to multiple clinical and technical projects aimed at studying brain health.

Key responsibilities include analyzing NIRS, physiological, and clinical data using computational pipelines, preparing scientific reports and publications, creating documentation for code and applications, and assisting in data collection. The position requires a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Developmental Science, Exercise Science, Human Physiology, or a related field. Strong programming skills (Python, C++, CUDA, Scala, etc.) and the ability to adapt to diverse computing environments are essential. Prior experience with neuroimaging modalities (NIRS, EEG, MRI) and physiological data is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving, task management, and communication skills, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
