A fully funded 3-year postdoctoral researcher position is available in the project group of Dr. Sigrid S. Skånland at the Department of Cancer Immunology, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital, Norway. The project, titled “Tailoring combination treatment of incurable hematologic malignancies,” is supported by the Norwegian Cancer Society and focuses on understanding response and resistance mechanisms to cancer therapies in chronic lymphocytic leukemia and multiple myeloma. The research group is affiliated with Professor Kjetil Taskén and is part of Scandinavia’s largest hospital, which is renowned for advanced patient treatment, research, and clinical trials.

The research will involve analyses on disease models including cell lines, primary cells, and mouse models. Key methods include multi-color flow cytometry, gene editing with CRISPR/Cas9, drug sensitivity testing, and in vivo validation of treatments. The project is situated at the intersection of cancer immunology, hematology, and cancer biology, with a strong emphasis on precision medicine for B-cell malignancies.

Applicants should have a PhD in cancer immunology or a relevant biological science, with demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: mouse models (including CAREiN license for animal experimentation), cell viability assays, multi-color flow cytometry, or gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9). Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. The ideal candidate will be creative, well-organized, result-oriented, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team. Personal suitability and motivation are important selection criteria.
