About this position

recruiting a new PhD student with Scholarship at Western Sydney University . The student will work on a topic entitled "Fire resistance of composite clad steel-geopolymer concrete columns". The application will close on 31 January 2025.

The project is funded through an ARC Discovery Project aiming to develop innovative clad steel-geopolymer concrete composite columns with improved fire resistance and durability. Clad steel involves covering the carbon steel with a layer of stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant metals.

The candidate will receive a tax-free stipend of $33,870 (AUD) per annum for up to 3 years to support living costs with a tuition fee waiver.

The preferred candidates should have a good track record of relevant publications and demonstrate strong academic performance in subjects relevant to structural engineering and/or structural fire engineering.
