Our new project, PROWAQ – Sustainable Protein-Feed Production From & for Aquaculture has been awarded 12 million NOK from the Research Council of Norway under the Research Project for Renewal scheme! ??
The project aims to develop local and economically sustainable protein sources for Norwegian aquaculture, reducing reliance on imported and less sustainable raw materials.
Together with Prof. Sven Kerzenmacher from the University of Bremen and Prof. Svein Jarle Horn from NMBU - Norwegian University of Life Sciences , we will develop a new integrated # bioelectrochemical system for # SCP production. By combining environmental and process engineering, microbiology and biotechnology, we aim to optimize processes for resource recovery and drive innovation in # waste -to- # protein technologies with relevance far beyond aquaculture.
The project will be coordinated by myself, with Rouven Metz as a key researcher.
Two fully funded PhD/Postdoc positions will be announced soon - stay tuned for opportunities to join this exciting collaboration!
