PhD and Postdoc Positions in Graph Databases, Causality, and Data Management (ERC GO-Y Project)
The ERC Advanced Grant GO-Y project, led by Prof. Angela Bonifati at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, is recruiting for fully funded PhD and postdoctoral positions in the areas of graph databases, causality, and data management. The project aims to unify graph database technologies with causal models, focusing on the development of theoretical foundations and practical tools for causality-driven graph data management. Research topics include causal property graph models, causal query languages, belief revision, graph analytics for causal inference, temporal schema and DAG versioning, and incremental maintenance of causal graphs. Applications of this research span AI, epidemiology, and social sciences.
The PhD position is ideal for candidates with a Master’s in Computer Science and strong foundations in data systems, logic, or AI. The postdoctoral position is suited for those with a PhD in Computer Science and expertise in data systems, logic, or AI. Both positions offer the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team in Lyon, France, and contribute to cutting-edge research in data management and causal inference.
Funding is fully provided for 3 years (PhD) and 2 years (postdoc). The priority application deadline is March 30, 2026. Interested candidates should apply by sending the required documents via email, following the instructions at the provided link. For more information, contact Prof. Angela Bonifati at [email protected].
