Fully Funded PhD Positions in Robotics, AI, and Machine Learning at NUST

The Department of Robotics and AI at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, is offering fully funded PhD positions under the supervision of Dr. Danish Hussain. This opportunity is ideal for candidates passionate about robotics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Research topics include deep compression methods for neural networks, model compression for intelligence on tiny devices, machine learning-based autonomous navigation of magnetic microrobotics in constrained environments, edge-cloud collaboration frameworks for latency-aware AI applications, augmenting machine learning for nanomaterials property optimization (for energy storage and memristor applications), and AI-based visual SLAM for autonomous robots. The scholarship package covers a full fee waiver, a competitive monthly stipend, international mobility, and access to advanced research facilities. Applicants must demonstrate strong programming and analytical skills, have published a high impact factor journal paper during their MS (preferred), and meet the NUST PhD Robotics and AI Engineering admission criteria. Excellent writing skills are also required. To apply, interested candidates should submit their CV and research proposal to Dr. Danish Hussain at [email protected] by March 30, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of robotics and AI research in a dynamic academic environment.
