PhD Candidate and Lecturer in Corporate Law (Ondernemingsrecht)

This unique position at Radboud University combines a PhD trajectory with a substantial teaching role in corporate law (ondernemingsrecht) at the Van der Heijden Institute, part of the Faculty of Law. As a Docent/Promovendus, you will spend approximately 70% of your time delivering and coordinating legal education, primarily at the bachelor's level but also at the master's level. You will guide students, coordinate courses, supervise theses, and be a key contact for student inquiries. The remaining 30% of your time is dedicated to your own doctoral research in corporate law, with structured supervision and support. The Van der Heijden Institute is renowned for its research and teaching in company and corporate law, and is part of the Research Centre for Business & Law (OO&R), a leading partnership with legal practice. The Faculty of Law at Radboud University is committed to training well-rounded legal professionals and advancing legal scholarship, often in collaboration with practitioners. The university values inclusivity, professional development, and a healthy work-life balance, offering flexible working arrangements and a supportive academic environment. The position offers a temporary six-year contract, with a competitive salary (scale 10: €3,546 - €5,538 per month for a 38-hour week), 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, and a generous vacation policy (30 or 41 days per year). Additional benefits include a pension scheme, professional development opportunities, and discounts on sports and cultural activities. The university encourages staff to tailor their employment conditions, such as exchanging salary for extra vacation days or receiving compensation for sports memberships. Applicants should have (or be close to completing) a master's degree in law, with a specialization or strong interest in corporate law. A passion for legal research and the ambition to complete a doctoral thesis are essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, the ability to connect different legal domains, and a willingness to develop didactic skills. Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is required. The university values enthusiasm, perseverance, and a commitment to professional growth. Applications should be submitted via the Radboud University online portal by 30 November 2025. The selection process includes interviews in December, with a preferred start date of 1 February.
