PhD Position in Artificial Intelligence and Protein Science at University of Bayreuth
The University of Bayreuth is offering a PhD position at the Chair of Artificial Intelligence in Protein Science, starting January 2026. Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biophysics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with an excellent academic record. Essential skills include strong programming abilities in Python, experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow, and a solid understanding of molecular biology and machine learning. Experience in data analysis, statistics, and working with biological databases is required. The ideal candidate is curious, well-organized, self-driven, and possesses excellent teamwork and communication skills, along with a very good command of English.
The position is funded at 65% of the TV-L scale and is initially limited to three years.
