PhD Position in Quantum Nanoscience: Charge Transport in Biological Nanowires

As a PhD student, you will fabricate electronic circuits using bio-nanowires, measure their electronic properties, and explore quantum transport phenomena, including phase coherence and quantum nuclear tunneling, particularly at low temperatures. The research involves device fabrication in the Kavli Nanolaboratory's state-of-the-art cleanroom, conducting sensitive electrical measurements under varying conditions, and interpreting and modeling the results to understand the underlying transport mechanisms. You will work in a collaborative, diverse, and supportive environment, regularly interacting with academic staff, PhD students, and postdocs, and collaborating with biologists in Belgium who supply the cable bacteria. The position includes comprehensive training and professional development through the TU Delft Graduate School.
