A fully funded PhD opportunity is available at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) in collaboration with Rugby Australia, focusing on the integration of sport science and data science to quantify the training demands of Australian Super Rugby players. The project aims to enhance long-term athlete development through a centralised approach, leveraging data analytics and sport science methodologies. The successful candidate will be embedded within Rugby Australia, working at the National Rugby Training Centre in Brisbane and spending time with national teams and Super Rugby clubs across Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, and Western Australia. This position offers a unique chance to be part of a fast-growing, innovative team driving advancements in elite sport. The research will involve collaboration between ACU and Rugby Australia, providing exposure to cutting-edge practices in athlete monitoring and performance analytics. The scholarship package includes a tax-free stipend of A$34,315 per annum for up to 3.5 years, a tuition fee scholarship of approximately A$30,000 per annum, RTP allowance for Overseas Student Health Cover, and relocation support up to A$2,000.
