Assistant/Associate Professor in Architectural Engineering (Computational Design, BIM, Sustainability)

The Architectural Engineering Department at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is seeking applications for full-time faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in computational and parametric design, building performance and simulation, BIM and digital construction, sustainable and net-zero systems, digital twins, smart buildings, and VR/AR technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to both undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service, supporting the department’s ABET-accredited program. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or a closely related field, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering. A strong research record with publications in reputable international journals is required, along with demonstrated proficiency in digital architectural and engineering tools. The position involves teaching integrated architectural design studios and digitally enabled workflows, developing and maintaining an active, externally funded research program, and contributing to curriculum development and accreditation activities. Professional practice experience and familiarity with ABET requirements are considered advantages. The department emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and research-led teaching, aiming to advance computational design, sustainability, and digital construction. Candidates should be able to integrate architectural design, engineering analysis, and construction principles within digital workflows, bridging design intent with constructability, building performance, and lifecycle considerations. Responsibilities also include supervising student research and participating in departmental, college, and university service activities. Applications are accepted online through the UAEU portal, and screening and interviews are ongoing. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching philosophy, and contact information for three references. The position remains open until filled, and recent Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply. For more information and to apply, visit: UAEU Job Posting .
