The application process requires candidates to contact Campus France or the French Embassy in their home country for guidance, select a French higher education institution, and secure the institution's support. Only institutions can submit applications online to Campus France; direct applications by students are not accepted.

The 2026 campaign opens on October 1, 2025, with a Campus France deadline of January 8, 2026. However, internal university deadlines may be earlier, so early preparation is advised.
