The University of Lisbon's School of Arts and Humanities is offering a fully funded PhD scholarship in Linguistics, supported by Portuguese national funds through the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. The position is based at the Center of Linguistics, specifically within the Grammar and Resources Research Group, and is open to candidates interested in advancing research in language sciences. The scholarship is initially supervised by Professor Fabrizio Macagno, with subsequent supervision by the scholarship holder's thesis supervisors. The scholarship is awarded for 12 months and may be renewed up to a maximum of 48 months, subject to project eligibility. The monthly stipend is 1,309.64€, paid according to the Portuguese Science Foundation salary scale, with insurance costs covered by the employer. Registration and tuition fees are included up to a pre-established limit. The fellowship is exclusive of any other professional or research activity, ensuring full-time commitment to the PhD program.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, languages, or related fields, and demonstrate a strong command of Portuguese and English. Candidates must be enrolled or eligible to enroll as PhD students in Linguistics or related areas and must reside permanently in Portugal at the start of the fellowship. Applications from Portuguese citizens, EU citizens, citizens of other countries, stateless persons, and political refugees are welcome. The selection process is based on curriculum assessment, including academic qualifications, relevance of training, research experience, and thesis project proposal.
