The Mechanical Intelligence (MI) Research Group at London South Bank University is offering a partially funded PhD (tuition fee waived scholarship) starting in September 2025 or January 2026.
We are looking for a curious, collaborative, and supportive team member to join us for three years to work on a flexible research topic at the interface of science and technology. Candidates from any relevant background are welcome to apply.
Our group specialises in Mechanical Intelligence – the science of uncovering mechanisms of intelligence in nature, formalising them, and translating them into engineering applications with real societal impact.
