A fully funded PhD position is available at the University of Central Florida in the Coastal Risks and Engineering (CoRE) Lab, led by Dr. Thomas Wahl. The successful candidate will join the Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering Department and the National Center for Integrated Coastal Research (UCF Coastal) in Orlando, Florida.

Research will focus on coastal risks from sea level rise, hydrometeorological extremes such as storm surges, waves, precipitation, and compound events, as well as strategies for risk assessment and reduction. The position is supported by federally and state-funded projects, ensuring full financial support. Applicants should have a strong background in civil or environmental engineering or a closely related field, with interest or experience in coastal risks, climate change, or risk assessment.
