We are pleased to announce a fully funded EPSRC PhD studentship at The University of Huddersfield :
“Assessing Railway Network Resilience under Climate Change and Natural Hazard Scenarios: A Quantitative Framework”
Climate change is intensifying the frequency and severity of natural hazards. These multi-hazard events present critical challenges for the continuity and safety of railway systems. This PhD project focuses on developing a quantitative resilience framework for railway networks exposed to complex, cascading risks related to climate change.
Through a combination of stakeholder interviews, disruption data analysis, and multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, the project will identify vulnerability patterns and help inform mitigation strategies for infrastructure operators.
