The University of Cologne, one of Europe's largest and oldest universities, is offering a full-time Doctoral Researcher position at the Cologne Institute for Information Systems (CIIS) within the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences. The CIIS is renowned for its research and teaching in all aspects of information systems, with a strong emphasis on digital innovation and responsible artificial intelligence (AI). The institute collaborates closely with international universities and leading companies, applying state-of-the-art approaches from information systems to real-world challenges.
As a Doctoral Researcher, you will contribute to cutting-edge research on digital innovation and responsible AI, utilizing qualitative, quantitative, and computationally intensive methods. You will be expected to publish your research in leading international journals, participate in teaching activities in the field of information systems, and engage in cooperation with global academic and industry partners.

The position is available from 1 March 2026 and is offered on a fixed-term basis until 28 February 2029. The salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the German public sector pay scale, with a full-time workload of 39.83 hours per week.
