The PhD position is fully funded for 4 years. Progression scholarships total $12,000. Additional scholarships include Leadership and Commitment ($30,000 for Canadians/permanent residents), Citizens of the World ($30,000 for international students), mobility grants ($1,500–$3,000), and graduate scholarships from agencies ($25,000–$40,000). International students may receive a tuition fee exemption, saving around $45,000. Funding is subject to academic approval and conditions may apply.

Requirements
Applicants should have a Master's (or equivalent) and a B.Sc degree in computer science, quantitative biology/biochemistry, or mathematics. A thorough understanding of basic algorithms, data structures, probabilities, statistics, differential calculus, and linear algebra is expected. Experience in bioinformatics, metagenomics, and next-generation sequencing data is a plus but not mandatory. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
