About this position
PhD opportunity in material science focusing on use of Artificial intelligence in predicting Diffraction in materials. Read post for more details and apply ASAP.
Diffraction-Based Materials Science with Artificial Intelligence.
We are seeking a PhD student to delve into materials behavior and processing by neutron and synchrotron X-ray diffraction methods, exploiting state of the art data with machine learning methods and artificial intelligence. The candidate will conduct experiments on selected specimen systems at leading facilities, analyze the data in conventional ways and feed them into the machine learning. This is an interdisciplinary project co-supervised by experts in diffraction methods for materials science, and artificial intelligence. Details upon discussion at further consideration. The project will start mid 2025 at University of Tennessee , and applicants being in the country or allowed to work in the USA will be preferred.
