The positions are supervised by Dr. Li Yang, an Assistant Professor recognized among the world's top 2% scientists and Computing's Top 30 Early Career Professionals, and may be co-supervised by Dr. Khalil El-Khatib and other senior professors in the Advanced Networking Technology and Security (ANTS) Lab.
Research topics include machine learning, deep learning, AutoML, TinyML, large language models, 6G networks, next-generation cybersecurity, cybersecurity applications in IoT systems (including smart cities, IIoT, EV networks, and aerospace IoT), intrusion detection, anomaly detection, AI/ML model optimization, quantum machine learning, sustainable AI, edge AI, and adversarial machine learning and defenses. The ANTS Lab is known for its cutting-edge research in IT networking and security, with projects funded by NSERC, MITACS, OCE, NCC, and industry partners.
Applicants should have a strong background in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, or related fields. MSc and PhD candidates must hold a relevant undergraduate or master's degree, while postdoctoral applicants require a completed PhD. Strong research skills and programming experience are preferred.
