The University of Graz invites applications for a PhD position as University Assistant without Doctorate in the Department of Civil Law, Foreign Private Law and Private International Law. This four-year, temporary position offers the opportunity to write a dissertation in the area of Civil Law while collaborating on research projects focused on Austrian and comparative inheritance and tort law. The role also includes teaching responsibilities, assistance in examinations, student support, and participation in organizational and administrative tasks within the department.
Applicants should hold a diploma or master’s degree in Law with above-average academic performance. A strong command of Austrian Private Law and related practice areas is essential, as is fluency in German (written and spoken) and excellent English skills. Additional foreign language skills are desirable. The position offers an annual gross salary of at least €52,865.40 (for a full-time, 30-hour per week contract), with the possibility of higher pay based on qualifications and experience.
