PhD positions are available for international students at the Doctoral School of Informatics, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary. The program is led by academic staff including Assistant Professor Chaman Verma and offers research opportunities in Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, Real-Time AI Applications, Statistical Learning, Machine Learning, and AI Applications in Education and Healthcare. Students will join an active research group and collaborate in an international academic environment. The PhD program covers a wide range of informatics and computer science topics, including software and computer science, data science, networks, information systems, scientific computing, numerical and symbolic methods, informatics teaching methodology, geospatial information, and IT solutions in engineering sciences. The Faculty of Informatics provides modern infrastructure, well-equipped computer labs, and access to extensive library resources and electronic publications. Students can participate in research projects with industrial partners and benefit from bilateral agreements with universities worldwide. Funding is available through the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program, which covers tuition fees and provides a stipend for eligible international students. Additional scholarships and research work opportunities may be available, such as EIT Digital and EFOP. The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA students is 4,500 EUR per semester, but scholarship holders are exempt. The application fee is 30 EUR (non-refundable). Applicants must have an MSc degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Statistics, or related fields, and demonstrate a strong academic background and passion for research. English proficiency at the B2 level is required.
