Funding
The Black Futures Scholarship provides £20,780 per year (tax free) for 3.5 years, full UK tuition fees, and a £1,200 training and support grant each year. Applicants with governmental funding are also encouraged to apply for PhD positions in brain machine interfacing.

Requirements
Applicants must have a master's degree in machine learning, electronics engineering, or neuroscience from a prestigious university, be proficient in deep learning techniques (CNN, Autoencoder, LSTM, GAN), and have strong programming abilities in MATLAB and Python. Familiarity with digital hardware architectures and FPGA design, as well as experience in computational modelling and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using COMSOL, are preferred. A high GPA equivalent to UK upper second-class honours (2:1) and an IELTS certificate are required. For the Black Futures Scholarship, candidates must be UK-domiciled, eligible for UK fees, and from Black or Mixed-Black heritage backgrounds as defined by HESA.
