Ghent University, a leading institution in Belgium, is offering a post-doctoral assistant position in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. This role is situated within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and focuses on scientific research in health economics, with at least 70% of the assignment dedicated to this area. The successful candidate will conduct health economic evaluations, contribute to the development and coordination of the Health Economic Evaluation Unit, and collaborate on project applications with colleagues across the university, hospital, and external partners in Flanders, Belgium, and internationally.
The position also involves contributing to education at the bachelor's and master's levels, specifically within the MSc in Healthcare Management and Policy, as well as supervising doctoral students and supporting departmental services. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree by the start of the appointment. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) is required. Candidates should have prior research experience in health economics, a record of relevant scientific publications, and a strong interest in coaching students.
This is a temporary appointment for three years, with the possibility of extension for another three years upon favourable evaluation. Remuneration is determined according to salary scale AAP5, and Ghent University offers a comprehensive benefits package including training opportunities, 36 days of paid leave, bicycle commuting reimbursement, ecocheques, and more. The appointment will start on 1 October 2026 at the earliest.
