About this position

A 2-year postdoctoral position is available in the music cognition theme of the Laboratory for the Study of Learning and Development (LEAD-UMR-5022) at Université Bourgogne Europe, CNRS, Dijon, France. The project investigates how music rhythm can benefit speech and language processing, using both short-term rhythmic stimulation and long-term rhythm training paradigms. Research will focus on improving speech and language perception in children, adults, and individuals with developmental language disorders, and will explore the relationship between rhythmic competencies and language skills.

The postdoc will join a collaborative team and contribute to experiment design, stimulus creation, participant recruitment and testing, data analysis, publication writing, and research dissemination. The position is ideal for candidates with a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, speech-language pathology, music cognition, or related fields, and with research experience in music cognition or psycholinguistics. Strong skills in experimental design and statistical analysis are required. The team values motivation, creativity, and strong communication skills in English, with conversational French preferred.

The LEAD laboratory is a center for cognitive psychology research, focusing on learning, development, and neuropsychological disorders. The group has a strong interest in the cognitive and therapeutic effects of music, as well as language processing and related disorders. The postdoc will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing research and develop their own experimental ideas.

To apply, candidates should send a CV, cover letter, and names of two references to Anna Fiveash ([email protected]). Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. The start date is negotiable, ideally before March 2026. For more information, visit LEAD or contact Anna Fiveash directly.
