Two Research Associate (RA) positions are open at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani), K K Birla Goa Campus and Pilani Campus, for a DST-funded project titled "Bio-Oil to Green Hydrogen Production and Scale-Up Demonstration." The project focuses on developing and demonstrating an integrated thermo-chemical pathway for scalable green hydrogen production from biomass-derived bio-oil. Research will involve designing and optimizing oxy-steam and plasma-based gasification systems, with detailed techno-economic and life cycle assessments to ensure commercial and environmental viability.
Applicants should hold a PhD (completed or submitted) in Chemical, Mechanical, or Energy Science Engineering or equivalent, with at least 60% marks in B.E./BTech/M.E./M.Tech. Preference is given to candidates with prior experience in thermo-chemical system development, experimental and modelling studies, and familiarity with process design and modelling tools such as ASPEN.
The positions are fully funded by DST, offering a stipend of ₹58000-67000 per month plus HRA. The application deadline is 12th April 2026.
