The position focuses on innovative research in the built environment, with a strong emphasis on AI and Machine Learning applications. Research areas include occupant comfort and behavior modeling, climate-resilient buildings, sustainable cities, urban climate (such as urban heat islands), and renewable energy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead projects that integrate advanced data analysis, mesoscale urban climate analysis, remote sensing, and urban building energy modeling.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Architectural, Environmental, Computer, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following is required: Data Analysis and Machine Learning (Python, LLM, R), Mesoscale Urban Climate Analysis (WRF BEP/BEM), Remote Sensing applications, or Urban Building Energy Modeling (UBEM). The position is set to begin on May 1, 2026, but the start date is negotiable.

To apply, candidates must submit a CV (including two references), a statement of purpose outlining research interests and goals, and one representative publication. Applications should be sent to Prof. Geun Young Yun at [email protected] by April 15, 2026.
