The Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN) in Krakow, Poland, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher (Adjunct) position in the Department of Cosmic Ray Research and Neutrino Studies (NZ15), Division of Particle and Astroparticle Physics. Applicants must hold a PhD in astronomy, physical sciences, or a related discipline, with a strong publication record in prestigious international journals. Essential qualifications include expertise in gravitational wave research (especially in connection with elementary particle physics, astrophysics, and astronomy), hands-on experience in observational gravitational-wave astrophysics (instrumentation and data analysis), proficiency in modern programming languages (Python, C++, or Fortran), and excellent English communication skills. Experience with LIGO or VIRGO experiments and participation in large international collaborations are highly valued.
The position is research-only, with no teaching obligations, and offers an annual leave of 36 days. The monthly gross salary is PLN 7,250 for PhD holders and PLN 8,050 for those with a postdoctoral degree (habilitation), with possible additional benefits such as long-service awards, annual bonuses, and social benefits.
