About this position

The International Max Planck Research School for Condensed Matter Science (IMPRS-CMS) in Stuttgart, Germany, is offering multiple fully funded PhD positions in the field of condensed matter science. Hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart, the program provides a unique opportunity to join internationally renowned research groups and engage in cutting-edge research projects. The IMPRS-CMS covers a broad and interdisciplinary spectrum of topics, including quantum materials, electronic structure, quantum many-body theory, nanoscience, solid state spectroscopy, ionics and batteries, bioinspired materials, quantum and organic electronics, and ultra-cold atomic gases. The doctoral program is structured, taught in English, and features a tailored curriculum.

Students benefit from individual supervision and mentoring by leading scientists, as well as access to excellent research facilities and a vibrant, multicultural work environment. Additional support includes technical workshops, PhD representatives, visa assistance, and childcare services. Applicants should have an MSc or equivalent degree in physics, chemistry, mathematics, materials science, or computer science, with a strong academic record and commitment to research.

Funding details
