Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuroscience and Psychedelic-Assisted Mindfulness Therapy for Addiction at University of California, San Diego

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship focused on clinical neuroscience and psychedelic-assisted mindfulness therapy for addiction and chronic pain. The position is part of the ONEMIND (Optimized Neuroscience-Enhanced Intervention Design) program, led by Professor Eric Garland, and involves federally funded research on Mindfulness-Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE) for opioid use disorder and chronic pain. The postdoc will assist with clinical trials, provide psychedelic-assisted therapy sessions, analyze psychophysiological data (EEG, fMRI), and contribute to manuscript preparation and grant writing. Applicants should hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, or an MD with a psychiatry focus. Candidates with PhDs in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or Data Science may be considered if they also have a clinical master's degree. Required skills include scientific writing, data analysis, and experience in mindfulness-based interventions, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and/or psychotherapy. Preferred qualifications include experience with psychophysiological data analysis, computer coding, machine learning, and study coordination on federally funded projects. The fellowship is a two-year, renewable position with a competitive salary and full benefits.
