Fully Funded PhD in Media, Communication, and Creative Industries (Sustainability & Diversity)

The Creative Bridges CDT is a pioneering, AHRC-funded doctoral training programme jointly offered by the University of Leeds and the University of Warwick. This initiative is designed for students passionate about shaping the future of the screen industries, with a focus on sustainability and diversity in film, television, games, and immersive media. The programme brings together academic expertise and industry partnerships across Media, Communication, Creative and Cultural Industries, Design, Performance, Immersive Technologies, and Digital Media. PhD students will benefit from a fully funded studentship, including tuition and stipend, and will engage in research that addresses the evolving needs of the UK screen sector and its audiences. The training centre is led by the School of Media and Communication at Leeds, in collaboration with the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures, and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies at Warwick. The programme fosters collaboration between academia and industry, supporting innovative research and professional development. Applicants should have a strong academic background in relevant fields such as media studies, communication, creative industries, or digital media. The programme is particularly suited for those interested in sustainability and diversity within the screen industries. The application deadline is 20 April 2026.
