PhD Position in AI-powered XR Interfaces and HCI at Texas A&M University
The Spatial Interaction and Interaction Design (SIID) Lab at Texas A&M University, led by Assistant Professor Jong-in Lee, is recruiting a PhD student for Fall 2026. The lab is part of the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts (PVFA) and focuses on cutting-edge research in AI-powered intelligent user interfaces for extended reality (XR) applications, novel interaction techniques for XR and 3D applications, and generative AI for high-fidelity prototyping and design workflows.
The successful candidate will conduct original research in XR, human-computer interaction (HCI), and related areas, contribute to ongoing research projects, participate in research group activities, and complete departmental PhD requirements. Applicants should have a master's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Information Science, Data Science, or a related field. Previous research experience or publications in HCI/3DUI venues are preferred, and strong collaborative and interdisciplinary research skills are required.
