Cardiff University is offering a fully funded PhD position in Energy Systems Modelling, supervised by Professor Meysam Qadrdan. The research focuses on the modelling and analysis of integrated energy systems, including electricity, gas, and hydrogen networks. The project will investigate the impact of emerging low-carbon technologies such as heat pumps and the growing energy demands from data centres on these interconnected systems. The successful candidate will develop advanced models of integrated energy systems and apply state-of-the-art AI and machine learning techniques, primarily using Python, to analyse system behaviour, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision-making.
