Graduate Student (M.S./Ph.D.) Positions in Digital Agriculture, Robotics, and Biosystems Engineering at Kangwon National University

The Digital Agriculture & Robotics Laboratory at Kangwon National University, Department of Biosystems Engineering, is recruiting two highly motivated graduate students (M.S. or Ph.D.) to join their research group starting September 2026. The lab specializes in smart agriculture, precision farming systems, UAV-based remote sensing, agricultural robotics, automation, autonomous systems, computer vision, artificial intelligence for agricultural applications, and advanced sensors and embedded systems for biosystems engineering. Applicants should have or expect to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biosystems Engineering, Agricultural & Biological Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Strong research potential and excellent communication skills in English or Korean are required. Preferred skills include experience with microcontrollers, electronic circuit design, programming languages (Python, C/C++, Java, MATLAB), computer vision, AI and neural networks, robotic manipulator modeling and control, autonomous driving systems, mobile robot navigation, and UAV platforms. Successful candidates will receive full tuition support, a monthly stipend, and health insurance coverage. The research group is led by Associate Professor Xiongzhe Han, whose expertise includes precision agriculture, smart sensing and control systems, agricultural robotics and automation, and remote sensing systems in agriculture. The lab is well-equipped for advanced research in digital agriculture and robotics, and students will have opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects and collaborate internationally.
