2 Junior Researchers in TASTADE on Investors in the Slave Trade (Master's level, VU Amsterdam) Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Netherlands

The N.W. Posthumus Institute shares a vacancy for 2 Junior Researchers in the ERC-funded project TASTADE (The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and the Development of Europe) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The project focuses on economic and social history, especially the identification of investors in the Dutch slave trade from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. The junior researchers will collect data on these investors’ business, political, and cultural functions and connections, working under the supervision of a postdoctoral researcher and an international team of experienced scholars from the Netherlands, France, Brazil, and Great Britain.

This opportunity is aimed at candidates with a completed or nearly completed Master’s degree in History. The post also states that Dutch proficiency is required.
