About this position

As a doctoral researcher at imec, you will engage in cutting-edge research across a wide range of domains, including 6G and wireless IoT communication, automotive systems, CMOS and beyond CMOS, 3D system integration, advanced nano-interconnects, high-speed analog/RF, neuromorphic computing, next-generation logic devices, novel memory concepts, quantum computing, data science, data security, GaN power electronics, image sensors, vision systems, life sciences, radar sensing, photovoltaics, power to molecules, sensor solutions for IoT, silicon photonics, solid state batteries, system and IC design, thin-film flexible electronics, and wearables. imec acts as a host research institute, with PhD degrees awarded by partner universities. The research environment is highly multidisciplinary and international, with over 700 PhD students from more than 40 countries. You will benefit from specialized technical training, access to state-of-the-art infrastructure, and opportunities to collaborate with global industry partners.

The NanoIC pilot line, a European collaboration hosted by imec, offers additional opportunities in semiconductor research, including internships, expert courses, and interuniversity programs. Applicants must hold or be about to complete a Master’s degree (120 ECTS credits) in a relevant field, with specific requirements for Belgian and international degrees. Strong English communication skills and a collaborative, creative approach are essential.
