About this position
EqualSea Lab at CRETUS, University of Santiago de Compostela, is recruiting 4 postdoctoral researchers for EU-funded Horizon Europe projects in marine sustainability, biodiversity conservation, climate research, and ocean governance.
The positions are distributed across two projects: MOIRAI (focused on climate risk, coastal resilience, blue economy, and indicators of vulnerability and adaptation) and REDUCE (focused on biodiversity conservation, fisheries, and ocean governance across the EU and West Africa).
Research topics include systematic review and knowledge synthesis of future visions and positive tipping points in marine/coastal systems, as well as data analysis and ecosystem modelling related to time series analysis, incidental catches (bycatch), and IUU fishing.
The work will be carried out with Laura Pereira, Ussif Rashid Sumaila, and Sebastian Villasante in an international, interdisciplinary environment addressing major ocean challenges.
Funding: These are funded postdoctoral positions within EU projects. The post does not specify the salary, duration, or additional benefits.
Eligibility: Applicants should have a strong research background relevant to marine sustainability, biodiversity, climate, modelling, or synthesis methods. No specific language-test waiver, fee waiver, or scholarship programme is mentioned.
Deadline: 2026-04-09. Applications must be submitted electronically through the University of Santiago de Compostela application form.
