AFRAP 2026 Fellowship in African Food Science, Nutrition, Food Safety, and Food Systems Research Centre for African Food Research and Innovation in

Applications are open for the AFRAP 2026 fellowship by the Centre for African Food Research and Innovation (CAFRI).

This is a fully virtual, six-month fellowship for emerging African food researchers interested in food science, nutrition, food safety, and food systems research. The programme is designed to strengthen practical research skills and help fellows produce a publishable research manuscript by the end of the fellowship.

What fellows receive: research methodology and study design training, one-on-one mentorship from experienced researchers, data analysis support, scientific writing support, publication-ready manuscript development, and access to a Pan-African professional network. Participation is free for selected fellows.

Eligibility: applicants must be citizens or residents of an African country and should be either final-year undergraduates, master's students, or early-career professionals in a food-related field. Applicants should have an interest in food science, nutrition, food safety, or food systems research, be able to commit 4–6 hours per week for six months, and have access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
