The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher specializing in computational biotechnology and bioreactor modelling and simulation. The position focuses on the development and application of computational modules to simulate bioreactor behavior and performance under aerobic and/or anaerobic treatment of biomass. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to research that produces high added value products, addressing real agricultural and environmental challenges in Morocco and across Africa.

Key responsibilities include setting up, validating, and evaluating Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) models to elucidate bioreactor heterogeneities and performance, developing and applying modelling/simulation approaches for approximating CFD results, analyzing and interpreting data from scale-down and scale-up experiments, publishing scientific results in peer-reviewed journals, and presenting research at national scientific meetings. The role requires conducting original research within an international framework and maintaining a creative, open, and resilient mindset.

Applicants must hold a PhD in modelling, simulation, and process engineering from a recognized university, with strong expertise in modeling and simulation of fluid dynamics, preferably for bioreactor environments. Familiarity with aerobic and anaerobic treatment processes is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent written and spoken English and French communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. Evidence of research excellence and professional experience in biotechnology, process engineering, modelling, and simulation of bioreactor is required.
