University of Missouri–St. Louis is hiring an Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track renewable appointment beginning in August 2026.
The position is based in the Department of Biology and centers on teaching Introductory Biology: From Molecules to Organisms, a required course for Biology and Biochemistry & Biotechnology majors. Additional teaching may include General Biology or General Microbiology for pre-nursing and general education students, plus senior undergraduate/graduate electives depending on the candidate’s expertise and departmental needs. The role also includes mentoring graduate teaching assistants, advising undergraduate Biology majors, and serving on departmental committees. Some evening teaching is expected, and optional summer teaching may be available.
Eligibility: A Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline is required. Previous teaching experience and/or relevant post-doctoral experience are desirable. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; the university will not sponsor employment visas. The successful candidate must be able to start on campus by August 17, 2026.
