The Theological Faculty at the University of Basel invites applications for a PhD or Postdoctoral Assistant position in the field of Old Testament/Hebrew Bible and Semitic Linguistics, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sonja Ammann. The position is available from January 1, 2027, or by mutual agreement, and is initially limited to one year for doctoral candidates and two years for postdoctoral candidates, with the possibility of extension upon positive evaluation (up to three additional years for PhD, four for Postdoc).

Proficiency in English and German is required; candidates should be able to teach and correspond in German or be willing to achieve the necessary language level within six months of appointment.
