The Research Laboratory of Prof. Serdal Kirmizialtin at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a talented postdoctoral associate to join their team in the Division of Science. The position focuses on the development and application of advanced molecular dynamics techniques to study Atmospheric Water Harvesting, a field with significant environmental and materials science implications. The Kirmizialtin Lab specializes in molecular dynamics simulations to investigate molecular thermal motions, which are crucial for understanding biochemical processes and developing new materials.

The lab is known for integrating computational simulations with experimental data, using methods such as path sampling, metadynamics, and machine learning to enhance the accuracy and relevance of their models. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline, with substantial experience in molecular dynamics simulations. Preferred qualifications include expertise in atmospheric water harvesting, metal organic framework modelling, statistical mechanics, percolation theory, and materials modelling for fluid separation. Strong programming skills (UNIX, Python, shell scripting), familiarity with modern sampling techniques (e.g., metadynamics), and experience with software such as Gromacs, MAPS, PLUMED, and quantum mechanics packages are highly valued. Excellent communication skills and a proven research record are also important.
