We’re excited to announce a fully-funded 1+3 [1-year MRes + 3-year PhD] studentship to join a collaboration between our lab, Professor Hugh Brady’s Lab at Imperial and Dr Jacob B.
's team at GSK as part of the Institute of Chemical Biology EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (ICB CDT) – starting October 2025!

?? Project Title
A target-agnostic covalent cyclic peptide platform
The project aims to develop a novel platform for discovering covalent chemical probes for challenging protein targets – with a focus on immuno-oncology.

You will work at the interface of chemistry, biology, and drug discovery, using techniques such as:
mRNA display
Chemoproteomics
Covalent fragment and peptide screening in cells

Professor Hugh Brady (Life Sciences, Imperial)
Dr Jacob Bush (GSK)

?? What’s included:
?? Year 1: MRes in Chemical Biology & Bio-Entrepreneurship
?? Years 2–4: PhD research
?? Full funding for Home and eligible Overseas students
?? Hands-on collaboration with GSK
?? Skills training with a multidisciplinary cohort

?? We’re looking for candidates with:
A 1st or 2:1 undergraduate degree in a relevant subject with at least 50% physical sciences background
Strong background and interest in molecular science
A passion for interdisciplinary science & innovation
