About this position

Western Michigan University is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of the Autism Services Center, reporting to the Office of Diversity & Inclusion. This full-time, salaried role is based at the WMU-Kalamazoo Main Campus and is responsible for directing all aspects of the Autism Services Center, including program planning, implementation, and supervision of graduate employees, practicum students, and student staff. The Director will provide training and clinical supervision for undergraduate and graduate practicum students, as well as direct services to university students with autism and their families, including assessment and intervention implementation.

The position involves developing and evaluating programming to support students with autism in their transition to and success at the university, maintaining management systems, and collaborating with campus and community partners. The Director will also conduct evaluation activities, often in conjunction with research at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, to measure the effectiveness of interventions. Additional responsibilities include identifying and addressing barriers to student success, supporting recruitment and yield efforts, managing budgets, and seeking extramural funding to support the program.

Applicants must hold a master's degree in a related field, have at least three years of relevant experience, and possess supervisory or lead experience in behavior analytic service. Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst and eligibility for licensure in Michigan are required. Strong communication skills and experience in evaluation, budget forecasting, and strategic planning are essential. The position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement, and tuition benefits for employees and eligible dependents. This is a 1-year terminal appointment with the potential for annual renewal.

Interested candidates should review the full job posting and apply by March 26, 2026. Required application materials include a resume, cover letter, and list of references. For more information and to apply, visit the WMU jobs portal.
