This doctoral position at KTH Royal Institute of Technology offers an exciting opportunity to advance cognitive brain theories and develop computational neural network models for brain-inspired artificial intelligence. The position is supervised by Dr. Pawel Herman and is designed for candidates with backgrounds in computer science, engineering physics/math, cognitive science, or related fields. Applicants must meet the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance requirements for postgraduate education, including a second cycle degree or equivalent, and demonstrate English proficiency equivalent to English B/6. Selection criteria emphasize personal skills such as goal orientation, perseverance, independence, collaboration, professionalism, and analytical ability. Interest in cognitive brain function, computational brain theories, and cortical computations is highly valued. Experience in scientific programming, numerical simulations, GPU programming, and large-scale neural network-based brain models is desirable but not mandatory.
Employment is full-time for up to four years, with renewal possible after the first year and then for up to two years at a time.
