The doctoral student will join a vibrant research environment within KTH's Department of Mathematics, which hosts around 55 PhD students and covers a broad spectrum of mathematical disciplines. The position includes some departmental duties, primarily teaching at the basic level, which can be conducted in English. Support for learning Swedish is available for interested candidates. Applicants must hold a second cycle degree (such as a master's degree) or have completed at least 240 higher education credits (with at least 60 at the second-cycle level), or possess equivalent qualifications. A completed master's thesis (preferably in mathematics or applied mathematics) is required before employment. Proficiency in English equivalent to English B/6 is mandatory. Additional merits include coursework in numerical methods for partial differential equations and functional analysis, programming skills (e.g., Matlab or Python), international experience, and excellent written and spoken English. Strong motivation for doctoral studies, critical thinking, and good communication skills are essential.
The position is fully funded, offering a monthly salary according to KTH’s doctoral student salary agreement and full employee benefits.
