DPhil (PhD) in Zero Carbon Energy Research at University of Oxford University of Oxford in United Kingdom

The University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, in collaboration with the ZERO Institute, is now accepting applications for its new interdisciplinary DPhil (PhD) programme in Zero Carbon Energy Research. This innovative programme is designed to train future leaders in the energy transition, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to address the challenges of decarbonizing global energy systems.

The DPhil programme offers a multidisciplinary training pathway that includes energy systems modelling, energy policy and governance, renewable energy production and storage, and a strong focus on system-level impact. Students will benefit from a cross-departmental cohort, access to world-class facilities, and the opportunity to work with leading researchers across the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) and Social Sciences divisions at Oxford.

Additional programme highlights include enterprise training, summer schools, internships, and dedicated networking opportunities, all aimed at enhancing students' academic and professional development. Up to six places are available for the upcoming intake.

Most successful applicants will receive a fully funded scholarship that covers tuition fees and provides a living stipend, making this an excellent opportunity for those passionate about zero-carbon energy research. Applicants should have a strong academic background in engineering, physical sciences, or a related field, and an interest in energy systems, renewable energy, or energy policy.
