The University of Oxford is offering a fully funded DPhil studentship in Organic Luminescent Materials, starting October 2026, under the supervision of Dr Daniel G. Congrave in the Department of Chemistry. This interdisciplinary project focuses on the design, synthesis, and investigation of new luminescent organic materials, aiming to advance fundamental understanding and facilitate the development of next-generation materials for optoelectronic applications such as solar panels, sensing, and displays.

The successful candidate will join the Chemistry Research Laboratory at Oxford and work within a dynamic research group dedicated to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. The studentship is funded by the European Research Council and covers course fees at the Home rate, plus a stipend of at least £20,780 per annum for four years, in line with the UK Research Council standard.

Applicants should have a first-class or strong upper second-class undergraduate degree in Chemistry, demonstrate a strong commitment to research, and possess the ability to independently acquire new skills.
